In this post I will share why Jean-Louis Denoit is my favorite designer. He is a french designer who's style is very different from the rest. I love the way he is able to mix his eclectic style with older architecture and modern architecture. When Denoit works an older space he not only preserves and embellishes the older architecture but adds new pieces and colors to bring the history and new design together as one. When Denoit works with a modern space I feel as if he knows how to add warmth and volume to the flat surfaces that come with modern builds. His ability to preserve and mix in new ideas to create eye catching and relaxing spaces is one of the main reasons he is my favorite Interior Designer.
For my first post i will be sharing what has inspired me to pursue a career in Interior Design. From a young age i could remember always playing with my girl cousins and their dollhouses. I wouldn't play with them for the dolls, but rather so that I could rearrange rooms and mini furniture in their house to create fun spaces. One of my big inspirations is my mother, We would always go out together to buy furnishings and decor for our home and vacation home before we traveled down to Mexico. Without my mother and I I'm sure our homes would be very bland. I was never able to exercise my interest in school though. I went to a very small high school with about 500 students. So the amount of elective courses was minimal. My art class was the only way to actually incorporate my creativity in any work besides at home. My art teacher always encouraged me to go into a design career and suggested I go to college for architecture. I thought about it but was just not comfortable with the amount of math courses and their difficulty level. So I thought about my other interests and interior design came to mind right away. Which is how I ended currently taking classes at IVY tech for Interior design. I plan and hope to have an exciting career in interior design.
